SEMS II Training Courses

The Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) courses are designed to include hands-on exercises and case studies to provide opportunities for authentic assessment and demonstration of competencies.

Lloyd's Register Energy - Drilling (LRED) offers the following three SEMS courses:

  • SEMS Champion training
  • SEMS Audit Team Member training
  • SEMS Auditor Team Lead training

The courses utilize an open learning atmosphere, making use of a combination of lectures, interactive discussion, hand’s-on activities, videos, activities, tools and testing to ensure optimum learning. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a Lloyd’s Register Drilling Integrity Services Inc. certificate.

Stacked Course Setup

The SEMS courses LRED offers are available as 'stacked courses'. As the requirements for SEMS Auditor are also part of the requirements for SEMS Team Lead Auditors, only the SEMS Team Lead Auditor is required to attend the fourth day to fulfill Team Lead Auditor training requirements.

This concept presents a significant cost saving, as the same training room and trainer can be used during the same week for all three SEMS courses:
